SO, NOAH AND NIKETOWN HAD AN EVENT FOR THE OLYMPIC TEAM LAST SATURDAY. NOAH AND NIKE PREPARED FOR THE ONE OR TWO HOUR EVENT FOR WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME. WHEN THE DAY CAME, NOAH RODE UP IN THE ELEVATOR WITH THESE WOMEN. HE DESCRIBED IT VERY HUMEROUSLY. HE SAID HE DIDN'T WANT TO STARE BECAUSE FIRST OF ALL THEY ARE WOMEN AND HE DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE THEM UNCOMFORTABLE. SECOND OF ALL THEY ARE CELEBRATIES AND HE DIDN'T WANT TO ACT FOOLISH AROUND THEM. HE SAID THE ELEVATOR WAS VERY CROWDED WITH ALL THESE TALL WOMEN AND SO HE STARED AT THE FLOOR, TRYING TO LOOK NONCHALANT WHILE DOING SO. HE SAID THESE WOMEN ARE JUST MAGNIFICENT AND THAT THEY WOULD KICK HIS BUTT WERE HE TO BE FOOLISH ENOUGH TO SCRIMMAGE WITH THEM.

Wow Dee, I am impressed.
Okay, death report. I was just at the farm and the goose is dead. Something must have gotten it last night. They gutted and ate the insides. None of us have seen Miss Kitty so I have asked Tiffany to keep her eyes open.
Tiffany had a doctor's appointment today and it appears everything is healing okay but they warned her not to injure the ankle again. Duh.
Tory, have fun in Iceland and yep we want lots of pictures.
Oh, Judi said we could hatch some eggs and give her 4 chicks for in town. Well Tiffany put 9 eggs in her incubator and 8 eggs hatched. So we are going to determine which ones are roosters and put an ad on Craig's List. They are so blooming cute. Right now they are in a big plastic container in the bathroom at the farm and Saturday, Tiff takes them over to Judi's house.

Good morning family!
I'm so aggravated that my dates for Iceland coincided with the Zois events in Richland! It sounds like you guys are going to have a ball. Please take loads of pics so I can see what I missed.
And of course, I will be sure to take lots of pics of Iceland. We’ll be driving on Route 1, the “Ring Road” highway that goes around the circumference of Iceland. Total distance is only 830 miles. We’ve heard Iceland is extremely expensive, and the towns are small, so we’re staying in a mix of hotels, hostels, and camping. No, we will not be eating whale meat or puffin, though they are both considered national delicacies. Ewwww! According to the guidebooks, the best place for a cheap meal is in gas station delis, so I expect we will be eating a lot of Icelandic 7-11 pizza-by-the-slice and hot dogs. Yummy.
Here's our itinerary.
Thu 17-May-12 Depart Seattle to Reykjavik 4:30 pm Iceland Air flight 680
May 18-19 Friday & Saturday nights in Reykjavik: Fosshotel Lind
May 20 Sunday camping in / near Snaefellsnes Peninsula (probably in Olafsvik or Grundarfjörður)
May 21 Monday sleep in Akureyri at Akureyri Backpackers Hostel
May 22 Tuesday camping in or near Lake Mývatn / Goðafoss Falls
May 23 Wednesday sleep in a guesthouse in Egilsstaðir (tentative)
May 24 Thursday sleep in a guesthouse near Vík (tentative)
Fri 25-May-12 Depart Reykjavik to Seattle 5:00 pm Iceland Air flight 681
Love Tory
My aggravations are not directed to Dee..I'm just envious that her knees, hips, and lower back permit running. I still love the idea, but can't even manage a few steps. Amusing though Dee--it does appear that you are walking. Darn photographers anyway!!!
My aggravation is that I wrote a really nice note on the blog when I was in Texas--and the internet connection went down so there was nothing I could do. Grrrrr. It's amazing how much steam it takes out of one's sails when that happens. I know Sandra has complained on occasion when the "save" function doesn't work. I've learned to copy what I've written first, so I can always redo the entry easily. Unfortunately, the copy has no place to go when the internet connection is lost.
I'm so glad Tory's doc is so attentive that he caught that unhappy mole changing its character. I remember that day when she got burned to a crisp in the Spanish sun. What misery--and perhaps, long term implications for her skin.
Kay - try Head and Shoulders shampoo for Ramon (or is it Luis?). Regardless, it works on dog's dandruff, just as well as people's. Couple times a week at first should do it.
I am SO looking forward to hanging with sisters, nieces, nephews, and whomever else. Tory will be in Iceland; Murray and Nikole working: boo hoo.

I'm just getting into it again (trail running). My partner Joan and I only ran the 5K (the event had a 50K and a bunch of other distances as well), but I placed first in the female over 60 event (OK, so there was only one of us in that event!).

That picture of the protestors is really scary.
Hope to see lots of pictures taken in Houston.
Les' 4th wife (Aunalee) is dying of cancer. When she goes I will be his last living exwife. First Frieda died, then Jerri, now Aunalee is going (wives 2, 3 & 4). Who is the last ex standing. What am I saying - the current wife has all the benefits not the ex.
Been fighting computer issues and word processing issues to the point of throwing the computer out the window. I called Diana this evening for some help. I know Tom and Sid are the computer geeks but they forget to dummy stuff down.
Looking forward to the coursing event in Richland.

Good morning family!
My dearsweet Uncle Sid was kind enough to grant me a login into the blog! I love to follow your lives vicariously through it, but the entries have gotten far to sparse lately, so it's time I started pulling my weight toward the end of general entertainment.
Yesterday I had my appointment with the plastic surgeon. Regrettably, I didn't get any "work" done, much as my aging corpus would benefit. I was referred to him because my regular doc found a mole she didn't like. She removed the offending blemish without ceremony, done and done! Unfortunately the subsequent labwork on my former mole also offended her, so back to the doc I went.
I wasn't looking forward to having a dermatologist carve me up like Frankenstein, so I got lucky when his schedule was fully booked. Luckier, the plastic surgeon could see me immediately.
I love plastic surgeons. His office was swanky, swanky. Nice couches, and stacks of glossy magazines -- Cosmo, Glamour-- completely unlike the tattered back issues of "Healthy Living" in my regular doc's cubicle style waiting room. And the guy himself could not have been more kind (for a guy poking me with a very sharp needle, then slicing my soft bits with a sharp knife).
He had me craft a good story about how I got my new scar -- so if anyone asks, the official story is that I hit a rock while spelunking in Iceland.
Much as I enjoyed the attentiveness of the guy who had the capacity to give me a new face and double-D's, I'm relieved this little episode is over and my former-former mole is relegated to history.
Love you all, Tory

Great pictures Dee. I am out at the farm and see no turkeys but lots of fresh droppings. I noticed the other day that there weren't any coyote droppings on the bridge. I wonder if they have moved on or think Missy Goose is too tough to eat.
The wind is blowing and the rain a coming down. Poor dogs went in for their rabies shots today and seem a little subdued.
KC what do you recommend (shampoo/lotion, etc.) for a dog with really dry skin. Ramone has developed what looks like dandruff. I tried one of the sample shampoos that you sent me (oatmeal & something) for dogs with dry skin. Don't know if it helped or not.

Just as photogenic as her mum. Great pictures. Elwood - kind of sounds like a possible husband for me. Elwood, Elwood, Kay and Elwood. See kind of goes together.

We are back from the Denver shows (well, actually, yesterday). Tory and I brought Bocelli, Swann, and one of Tornado's babies, Eclipse. Since it was a borzoi specialty, lots of borzoi were there. We didn't win, but each of the 'boyz (and girl) placed 2nd in their respective classes. Each of the classes had at least 6 dogs in them, so although we didn't win, we did good!! I handled Eclipse, and a friend of ours handled Bocelli and Swann during their turns in the ring. Susan's really remarkable handler. Bocelli is barely leash trained, had never been in a show ring before, and certainly had never been in an extremely crowded hall with dogs, people, and noise. But he trotted off with Susan and happily trotted around the ring, looking bright and cheerful. Bocelli was the only red boy in the ring, so he looked extra special (at least to my eye--and it turned out, to the judge to the 2nd degree as well).
Tom will take Tory to Dragon man's today for some shooting lessons and target practice. She claims she's looking forward to the adventure.

Bill and I drove down today and got here early enough to check on the bridge and the loop through the woods. All is well. I took lots of pictures, but left my camera connecter at home so you will have to wait to see how things look.
We are going to see Aunt Martha tomorrow.
Love,
Dee
